Season’s Greetings, Alachua County! We have so much to celebrate this holiday season. Thank you to all of you in Alachua County who supported both the Half-Cent Sales Tax and the Children’s Trust. It is amazing to belong to a community where you know the people care about children and are putting them first. Both of these initiatives will not only give our kids equitable learning environments and more support outside of school, but at the same time help to build and strengthen our community. I would like to thank the Alachua County School District for partnering with the ACCPTA to listen to parents, students, teachers and the community to hear what improvements they would like to see at their school. We look forward to the change that will take place in the coming years.
I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our local unit PTA’s for their hard work and dedication to the students, teachers, and parents at their schools throughout the year. You are all making a difference in a child’s life, and I thank you for your open hearts and the kindness you give every day. Everything we do, we do in line with the PTA mission: To make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
In November, we chartered a new PTA. I would like to welcome Duval Early Learning Academy to our PTA family. I would also like to congratulate both Meadowbrook and Archer Elementary Schools for winning grants from the National PTA. All of these things are helping us to engage families in their schools. As the year is coming to an end, we take this time to look back on the past year and celebrate our wins and reflect on our challenges. ACCPTA will continue to advocate for all children with our focus on mental health, ese, and school facilities.
I wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday season!
