Mental Health

Mental health matters to our students, teachers, school staff, and our community as a whole. It’s connected to nearly all facets of our life and is a driving force for how we interact with others and how we handle life. It determines how we handle stress and copy with hardship, and impacts our physical health as well.

Student mental health is a growing concern in our schools. The pandemic has had a tremendous impact on how we feel and how we cope. ACCPTA has been advocating for more and better mental health resources for our schools for years, and we continue to work on that at the local and state level. Our Wellness Wednesday workshops focus on mental health topics, and we work with local PTA units and the school district to ensure students receive the support they need.
