Welcome Message from Pam Korithoski

Dear ACCPTA Family,

On June 1st, I started a new journey as the new ACCPTA President. I am honored and privileged to represent our County and its 3200 members. It is an honor to serve and work with you.

I want to first thank Khanh-Lien Banko, Rik McNeill, Tarcha Rentz and Kim Taylor for their courage, bravery and perseverance in getting ACCPTA back up and running as a dynamic organization serving the children and families of Alachua County. I have enjoyed working under Khanh-Lien’s leadership and by her side.  She has been a wonderful mentor and will still remain on our board as Past President and serve on different committees on ACCPTA.

Our organization is growing and we are excited that more people are getting plugged into local school PTA’s and ACCPTA.  This year we also started the Advocacy PTA for anyone who may not be affiliated with a particular school, but also wants to advocate for schools and children. We are currently working on setting our goals for the 2018-2019 School Year and can’t wait to share with you the new committees that we are setting up to help support all the children in our schools. That makes us unique, that “ALL” because we strive to serve all children.

I hope to see you at Leadership Convention in July. This is such a great opportunity to learn about PTA and the role that you play and support you as you serve.  Also, you will see how you are plugged in to something bigger, a state and national organization with remarkable resources. You will feel the difference that your membership is making.

In the meantime please check out our proposed calendar for the 2018-2019 year. Get those dates on your calendar.  Attached you will find the link to our google calendar on our website: https://accpta.org/calendar/

I am excited about this year as we get started planning and getting ready for the next school year of potential massive changes to facilities and collaborating with community partners. We have a lot of work to do but I have faith that together we will get it done. Please join me and our new executive board leaders on this journey. I promise it will be fun and we can make some memorable moments doing it together.

Sincere regards,

Pam Korithoski
